Dolby Laboratories
Windows of culture.

I relocated from Atlanta to Oakland at the end of 2018 and got the opportunity to be a part of the vision phase of reintroducing Dolby.com to the world. Dolby at the time was in the process of shifting their brand from solely B2B to B2C. Our team pitched the phrase “Alive in Dolby” as a rally cry for us to root our work going forward with and also to drive an experience focused on people, passions and experiences. I was one of the designers on the project. I was initially tasked with exploring ways to visually provide a way for users to dive into Dolby’s digital world through an experience finder. Our team worked on-site with the client and pitched our ideas & directions to the client. Ultimately my direction got selected and I had the opportunity to drive it to the finish line along with my team.

I also worked on defining and refining the design system through scalaeble templates and components that would allow the client to migrate their content over to the new vision we pitched. This is a peek into the process and the final product that is currently being tested and implemented by the client.

Visionary journey.

I remember the day when I received my first ViewMaster with a Jurassic Park reel to dive into, that moment of wonder and excitement was one I could not shake and I felt Dolby was the perfect project to bring that perspective into.

After reading the brief, I could not get that spark of viewmaster inspiration out of my mind and that became the basis of what would evolve into the direction explored below.
